Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down, down down on the ground.

Students are standing, and holding their arms up high with
Their fingers wiggling like the leaves falling down. Begin to
Crouch down until they are as low as possible.

Rake them up and make a pile, make a pile, make a pile.
Rake them up and make a pile, guaranteed to make you smile.

Students stand up and pretend to rake the leaves. They
Stop raking and sing” guaranteed to make you smile”
While holding their fingers to their lips in a smiling grimace.

Jump into the pile of leaves, pile of leaves, pile of leaves
Jump into the pile of leaves, taking turns if you please.

Students jump up and down. They stop jumping and sing
“taking turns if you please” nice and strong.

Put a leaf in a book, in a book, in a book
Put a leaf in a book, in a few months take a look.

Students bend down, pretend to pick up a leaf and clap
Hands together as if closing the leaf in a book. Everyone
Sings “in a few months, take a look”.

Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down, down down on the ground.

Students are standing, and holding their arms up high with
Their fingers wiggling like the leaves falling down. Begin to

Up and down, round and round (draw circles in the air),
put your fingers on the ground.
Over (hold hands above lap) under,
(below legs) in between (you've hidden your hands in between your legs)
Now my fingers can't be seen!
Hands in front, hands behind , now my hands I cannot find.
Here's my left hand , here's my right,
Hands and fingers back in sight (wriggle fingers).

My hands upon my head I place
My hands upon my head I place,
On my shoulders, on my face,
On my lips, by my side,
Then behind me they will hide.
Then I will hold them way up high,
And let my fingers quickly fly,
Hold them down in front of me,
Then I'll clap them, one, two, three.

I'll be gathering all the acorns till they're gone.
I'll be gathering all the acorns till they're gone.

Gathering all the acorns till they're gone.
And I'll put them all inside my little home.

I will put them all inside, put them all inside,
Put them all inside my little home.
And I'll eat the nuts until the winter's gone.
I will eat the nuts until the winter's gone.
I will eat the nuts until, eat the nuts until,
Eat the nuts until the winter's gone.
Then I'll do it all again come next fall.
I will do it all again come next fall.

Do it all again come next fall.

Watermelon Song
(Tune: "Are You Sleeping?")
Watermelon, Watermelon,
[Make a circle with your arms.]
On the vine, On the vine,
[Curve hands and arms beside body.]
Sweet and red and juicy, Sweet and red and juicy,
[Rub your tummy.]
Please be mine! Please be mine!
[Palms together as though pleading.]
Watermelon, Watermelon,
[Make a circle with your arms.]
Thump, thump, thump,
Thump, thump, thump,
[Make a thumping movement with thumb and middle finger.]
I think you are ready- I think you are ready-
[Point, resting finger on your temple.]
Big and plump! Bug and plump!
[Make a circle with your arms.]

My Garden
This is my garden
[Extend on hand forward, palm up.]
I'll rake it with care,
[Make raking motion on palm with three fingers of other hand.]
And then some flower seeds
[Plant motion.]
I'll plant in there.
The sun will shine
[Make circle with hands.]
And the rain will fall
[Let fingers flutter down to lap.]
And my garden will blossom
[Cup hands together; extend upward slowly.]
And grow straight and tall.

Songs and Rhymes

During the Spring
During the Spring, it often showers
[Flutter fingers down.]
Or the sun shines for many hours
[Form circle in the air with arms.]
Both are good for the flowers!
[Cup each hand and extend arms like flowers.]

Five Little Flowers
Five Little Flowers Standing in the sun
[Hold up 5 fingers.]
See their heads nodding, Bowing one by one
[Bend fingers several times.]
Down, down, down Comes the gentle rain
[Raise hands, wiggle fingers and lower hands.]
And the 5 little flowers Lift up their heads again
[Hold up 5 fingers.]
One little flower growing just for you.
[Hold up 1 finger.]
Up came another and then there were two.
[Hold up 2 fingers.]
Two little flowers growing near a tree.
Up came another and then there were three.
[Hold up 3 fingers.]
Three little flowers growing more and more.
[Move hand up.]
Up came another and then there were four
[Hold up 4 fingers.]
Four little flowers growing side by side.
Up came another and then there were five.
